Listed company reporting

Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Stock Exchange News Service (SENS) can be accessed herearrow-up-right. You can also view by company or 'equity issuer'arrow-up-right such as Steinhoffarrow-up-right or AB InBevarrow-up-right.

Many South African companies are also listed on international exchanges, such as in the U.S. Filings from companies with their 'Principal executive offices' located in South Africa can be accessed on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGARarrow-up-right (Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval) system. The Frankfurt Stock Exchange is also a popular listing for South Africa-linked companies for which you can view specific profilesarrow-up-right, along with relevant news and announcements, similar to the JSE.

The Southern African Legal Information Institute (SAFLII) database of court cases can be searchedarrow-up-right for specific companies.

South African Revenue Service (SARS) dispute resolution and judgementsarrow-up-right such as Tax Court judgmentsarrow-up-right.

Judgements from the National Consumer Tribunal back to 2008 are available herearrow-up-right.

Registers of companies, trusts and individuals

Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) has an entity searcharrow-up-right where you can look up information about a specific company using enterprise name, number of director ID.

Master of the High Court hosts a Trust Searcharrow-up-right via its Integrated Case Management System (ICMS) Web Portal. You can also search for deceased, liquidation, curator and insolvency via the same link.

International databases and registers are also useful for accessing information on companies (and individuals associated with companies) based or operating in South Africa.

Institute of Directors South Africa (IoDSA) publishes PDFs of registered and chartered directorsarrow-up-right.

The Tax Justice Network runs a Financial Secrecy Indexarrow-up-right which lists South Africa's adherence with several registers of informationarrow-up-right.

Sector-specific tools and registers

National Credit Regulator (NCR) provides access to databases of registeredarrow-up-right (and cancelled/ lapsed) credit providers, debt counsellors, credit bureaus, alternative dispute resolution providers, and payment distribution agencies.

Construction companies are registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB). Access the register here.arrow-up-right
